Shortly after the AP uncovered hundreds of sexual assault cases mishandled by the Maricopa County Sheriffs Office (MCSO)  the Department of Justice announce that their investigation found the sheriffs office to have a culture of racism against Latinos.  From the sweeps that trample on civil rights to the emails of fake I.D. photographs with the title “Mexifornia” the MCSO not only allowed racial profiling, but for the most part promoted it.  Although the results if the investigation weren’t shocking the question is what is the Federal governments role in this now?  After cutting all ties to MCSO’s programs ICE still dedicated fifty federal agents to Sheriff Joe’s disposal, just a quick formal disassociation while the media was watching.  A few Democratic leaders have called for Joes resignation but in the end it is still clear that he still maintains his power.  Even though its nice to see his name and crooked organization smeared in national headlines there is only faint hope that the voters will remember the exchange of hundreds of botched sex cases for the capture of about a dozen dishwashers.  I think its only a matter of time for Joe to be caught in a pair of his own pink boxers, and his cellmates will have no mercy.  That’s a guarantee…
